Music playback stutters while phone screen is locked.

Music playback stutters (sounds similar to buffering) while phone screen is locked. No issues if phone screen remains on.

Changed battery settings to give Spotify unlimited battery access, including while operating in background. Clean reinstall, altering Bluetooth settings, altering audio settings, and clearing caches all do not work or provide only temporary relief.

Issue also occurs when accessing another Spotify account from the same phone.

Edit: This issue also occurs when I connect to my home soundbar and when doing offline listening.

I am a Pixel 6 user.

Would you mind letting us know when this started to happen? 

It would also be helpful if you send the OS version and the exact Spotify version currently running on your phone.

I'm running up to date Android 14. Spotify app version 8.9.24.633 (current). 

I believe this issue began occuring in early March, but I'm not sure.

Thanks for getting back to us. 

 Does your audio behave that way with other apps or is it just with Spotify? Test with different apps if sound comes out when your screen is locked. While we were  doing research we spotted that google support has a thread that suggests turning off Voice assistant as that might be interfering. 

Give that a try and keep us posted!

Hello,

I confirmed this stuttering issue was a problem not limited to Spotify. After contacting Google I performed a factory reset of my phone. I then installed my backup file except for "system settings." This appears to have remedied the issue.
