Music played from the Queue is not reflected in the "Recently Played" list

Old Man trying to use Spotify here.....

I add music to the queue and listen to it. Every once in a while I will play directly a song, and then let the queue take over and listen to that.

My "Recently Played" list only displays thing that I play, and not items listened into the queue. For my usage, the Recently Played list doesn't actually reflected what I am primarily listening to.

Any suggestions, or is this a bug, or am I stuck with the VCR blinking 12:00 and me being of a generation that will just not get how to use this service ?

Thanks for reaching out about this here in the Community. 

We can confirm that the playlists, albums, and the artists that you click on and that include the songs you proactively choose to play will be the items included in your Recently Played section.

For example, whether you play one or four songs from the same playlist, the playlist itself is the item that should be added to your Recently Played.

5 years later and this is still an issue. The songs I queue up to listen to don’t reflect in the recents list. They do if I click on my name at the top left and look at recents there, but not on the home screen.
