It has not been fixed for me.

I think I have the same issue with the autoplay setting. Currently it seems to have no effect whatsoever. But I also remember similar problems for several months now where changing this settings seemed to have no immediate effect, but occasionally changed Spotify's autoplay behavior several hours or even *days* after I had touched the setting.

They asked for a video above to understand the issue. I hope this helps with that: https://imgur.com/a/Gl5a27q (sorry, screen recording is larger than the 5MB limit here, hence I posted this with another service)

I use Spotify Version 8.8.62.491 and Moto G8 Power Android version 11. I've tried that but it didn't work. To be honest I don't really care that much about this since I can turn it on/off on the desktop software but I think this could be useful information.

Hey folks,

Looks like the Autoplay on desktop is controlling the feature's behavior across all platforms. Could you confirm if disabling/enabling it on desktop has an effect on the mobile app as well?

Cheers!

My Question or Issue

My son is premium since roundabout 1 week and this automatic recommendations play after a playlist even does not work if deactivated in settings.

Made sure that version latest in Playstore.

Guys, I'm rly upset. I'm investor and and pay now additionally 10 bucks monthly for my son. I will and can expect that this basic functionality of the app is working. Just make sure that that what is selected is played and not that I have to work with workarounds that my son gets the whole night program with things that I think are reasonable but that he has not selected to hear. Make this app play that what is from interest and not that I have to work and write in your forums to make basic functionality of Ur app is working as expected l.

Spotify Team,

i did what was stated here in the threat and installed now the Desktop App on my sons computer to deactivate there the Autoplay. Guess what - i wasted now again 30 mins of my lifetime to try to fix your issues. It still does not work.

Fix it! I really think at the moment to make a youtube video about the unbelivable basic functionallity that you doesn't manage to work...

More upset than before :(....

Thinking rly to sell my stocks - deactivate account of my son and switch to Amazon Music let the world now that the leading company in streaming makes no stable software :(....

Fixed on my own:

  • Autoplay deactivation in Desktop App
  • Similar titles play in Mobile App deactivate
  • Android Smartphone hardclose app "force exit" in Android App Settings
  • Restart Android App and finally don't have the play of similar titles recommended by Spoty-Thing

Guys - this Sotware is a MESS!! FIX IT .. Rly not my task to workaround with this untested software / synchronization!

I have turned off autoplay on my android device. Still, at the end of an album Spotify immediately jumps to "playing recommended songs for you"
This setting does work on my laptop.

I have premium and this happens on my android and web player. I don't use any other devices. I have autoplay disabled. I have done a complete reinstall of the app, deleted all local data, restarted the device.

It still plays music when my queue is empty at the end of an album or playlist. Unless they added Sole Survivor and White Wedding to Dark Side of The Moon last night without telling me... I'm not using any form of shuffle or smart shuffle or anything like that.

Please. I need this resolved so I can fall asleep to music without some random **bleep** waking me up, or just having to manually turn it off because it won't end. I have spent a combined four or five hours with support with nothing to show for it. I'm not the only one with this problem but every other post about it seems to get ignored and combined with the autoplay toggle "idea" they implemented earlier this year. Well that's not the problem I'm experiencing. Please acknowledge and resolve this.

I have a Premium plan, and I use Spotify often in my classroom from my desktop (website), USA.  I really wish that once a song is finished, the next song would NOT play.  I am often not by my Promethean Board when a song ends, and it is disruptive when a new song starts that I have not planned for.

When I click on Settings on my desktop, the only options are Language, Library, and Display.  I have Spotify on my personal phone, and have autoplay disabled.  How can I stop a playlist from keeping on playing; I only want it to play one song and then stop. Thank you!

I am also having this problem - Autoplay is disabled but the queue still fills up with "similar" or "related" songs even when I'm listening to a personal playlist or a specific album! Like it's off right now & the queue won't even let me Remove the songs I don't want. This is incredibly irritating & disruptive.

Hey folks!

While we're working on identifying the cause of this and implementing a fix, for anyone who hasn't tried this, please check the workaround mentioned above by @Hoerwurm! The desktop app should disable the setting for you across all platforms.
Thank you for your patience.

Auto play is not working in my account in Spotify i have tried reinstalling the app. It works on other account that i login (both my pc and android) but with this account it doesn't work.

After someone pressed the repeat button multiple times while I was trying to get them to skip the song my auto play no longer works. Now when reaching the end of the queue it just returns to the first song but paused. I’ve tried logging out and in, uninstalling and turning the auto play on and off again but nothing works. I don’t know if the two are connected but it’s the only thing that comes to mind. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes Autoplay on desktop controls the feature. I have confirmed. But if it is turned off on mobile, recommended songs still play as though it was not turned off.

Hey folks,

Thanks for all the info shared in this thread.

If you continue experiencing this behavior, would you mind checking if there's a pending update for the app? You can do this by going to the Play Store and searching for Spotify. If you see the update button, select it to install the latest version available.

If this issue continues after it continues, please send us the following:

  • Make/model and exact OS version of the affected device.
  • The exact Spotify version you're currently running.
  • A video recording of this behavior. You can attach the videos in your next reply in mp4 format, or you can also upload them to YouTube or Google Drive and make them public, so we can watch them.

We'll be on the lookout!
