My Question or Issue

My bluetooth earbuds work with everything on my phone except when using Spotify. Spotify recognizes my BT earbuds but when selected it plays through the phone speaker. I have the Amazon Music app on my phone also and it works with my BT earbuds. I have a Yamaha streaming device and a BT soundbar also setup in my Spotify app and they play Spotify music without issues when selected. I've removed and reconnected my BT earbuds, removed and reinstalled the Spotify app, restarted my phone, disconnected my Yamaha and soundbar devices, etc. I would appreciate any assistance that you could offer. Thank you.

Sorry to hear about this issue. I see that you already tried some troubleshooting steps for this. 
I have Samsung S24 myself and I tried reproduce this issue with Galaxy Buds Pro2 and JBL Headphones and both worked for me.

Let me ask you the following for more troubleshooting:

• What's the exact brand and model for your earbuds?
• Do you still see the earbuds that is selected in the Connect picker while the music's playing through the speaker or does it switch to This phone?
• Have you tried to sign in with different accounts?
• Have you tried to test the earbuds with another Andriod phone?
• Does this issue happens with both music and podcasts?
