New Episodes feed has been removed from My Library

New Episodes feed has been removed from My Library

When I opened the spotify app this morning to download any new episodes from my favourite podcasts in My Library, I found a note where my New Episodes feed would be to say this was now not part of My Library and that I needed to go to Home to find new episodes. So now I have to scroll endlessly through my home page to find the banner new episodes of podcasts, and then I have to open each episode individually to then click again to get to download them. Then when I go back to the homepage it takes me back to the top again and I have to scroll down the page AGAIN to find new episodes and go through the process each time. It was a stupid change and I don't understand why you would make it so much harder for users than previously. How is this beneficial?

Great. Revert the change. It is clearly regarded as pointless and unpleasant.

Ok so my New Episodes have now been reinstated. Thank you Spotify for putting back something that didn't need fixing. It would have been good to have had more communication over this period as a lot of damage has been done to customer trust. The pat corporate responses gave us nothing, and actually made it a lot worse. Two weeks is a long time to leave your customers hanging. Too long. I went a week before I started looking elsewhere for an alternative podcast player. I wouldn't have if I had even an inkling that our complaints were being listened to, or that you were considering rolling back the change. This is the second time you have attempted to remove this feature, so I don't have any faith that you won't try to do it again. So much could have been done better. I've been a premium customer for many years and although Spotify hasn't always worked perfectly throughout that time, it wasn't ever in a way that moved me to complain. Having read all the comments here, I know there are many more like me. We came here, in large numbers, to find out what was going on and were given nothing, which just made a bad situation many times worse. I don't know what the reason is for this poor handling of the situation. Maybe it is contempt for the customer or maybe it is just bad communication/organisation within the corporate structure. Either way, the whole debacle has damaged your brand and I hope you learn from it and make some changes.

Beyond irritated by the change, I'm a hgv driver and some days spend up to 8 hours listening to podcasts. The following list was vital to my experience, the changes have made it so much more difficult. There are also loads of quiet periods now, it's as if the software no longer gets the next episode loaded in advance. I used to skip multiple episodes and no waiting to load was necessary, I'm hoping there's some sort of reversion or I'll also be cancelling premium and finding an alternative. 

 

 

Do you really think that clicking three times is better than clicking once? There must be a financial benefit to Spotify to make us click on more things, which would mean that customer experience comes second at best. The backlash must be having some impact because the New Episodes button keeps reappearing in different ways, which has just served to increase my frustration. Do your GUI designers even use your own product? Just keep the button at the top of our Library feeds. It works and itโ€™s easy. Youโ€™re driving me crazy here. 

My new episodes tab is back! I'm glad Spotify listened to our complaints.

This is a terrible change.  I can't even find this "following" feed.  Where is it?  Can you make a youtube video that shows where to find it?

It didn't work until I updated the app. Then it was back.

It is. Amazing how things change when you cancel your service for a few days.

I'm just adding my complaint as well. The new interface is absolutely baffling. I can't find my latest episodes. I will probably just start listening to my podcasts using a different platform.

Thank you for bringing back new episodes. You deserve being commended for listening to your customers about a feature they really care about and enjoy.
