No SD Card Found

No SD Card Found

I have a 16GB Nexus 4. Recently I've been getting "No SD Card Found" and it wont allow me to do anything. If i reboot I get the same error. All my other apps can access my "SD Card" with no issues. The only way I have found to fix this problem is to uninstall and reinstall, but the issue appears again in less than a week.

Looks like I'm not the only one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=42410470

P.S. Spotify just gave me for my various contributions the rank of "Superfan". lol I think it's the opposite with all the problems I've had with the android app and html5 app.

Have you been trying this while your device is plugged in as a USB storage device?

This is givng me a severe case of the sheets!!!  Been through this loop about 5 times now.

  8. Your mobile Spotify version: 0.6.6.270

@Farrel Can I just check. You're getting the ""No SD Card Found" error message? Did it work before?

Correct,

it works if I either re-install the app, or clear all data, and download my playlists again.

This shouldn't be happening any more, as far as I know. You're not running any apps which might be tampering with the cache like Clean Master?

Hi Joe,

Sadly it's still happening to me.  This time after a reboot of the phone.

I certainly don't have Clean Master. I haven't bothered with that style of app since I ditched the HTC that I had a couple of years ago.  I'll try checking through the list to see if there's anything else there that might be fiddling with the cache.

I'll start making notes on the circumstances, but I seem to remember that it's happening mostly on reboots for me.

@Farrel It might not be a problem with spotify. I see a lot of people having issues with external SD cards and the S4, particularly on restarting the phone. I haven't seen a solution but this thread may be worth taking a look at.

If SD Card errors, ti might be one of these:

SD Card is not installed.

SD Card is not installed fully.

SD Card is broken.

Please try also to format SD card in these problems.

If it helps at all: I only got this error when my phone was plugged into the computer to charge. Had something to do with the phone being plugged in as an external storage device.

Go to Windows Update when phone is plugged in to computer and search for updates, it might find an driver update 🙂

Wow...now this has become extremely frustrating.  For the past 2 days I've been talking to Support because my Android app kept telling me my phone was out of storage and couldn't sync offline.  Support cleared all my devices from my account.  Now, I launch the app and I get the "No SD Card Found".

That's it, I'm canceling my subscription.  No need for an app that craps out and it's not even in version 1.0.  POS...

This problem for me turned out to be that I was trying to start (and later, trying to re-install, and re-install) Spotify while the USB cable was connected to my computer.  On my Droid3, even when USB settings are set to "Charge Only," connecting the device to my machine apparently unmounts the SD card (presumably so the computer can get at it), which makes it "unavailable" for Spotify.  Order was restored to the universe when I re-installed Spotify on my Droid3 after (1) unplugging the USB and (2) checking in Settings to make sure my SD card was mounted, recognized, reporting 16GB of space, etc.  Made me feel silly.

Hey there,

I'm getting the "No SD Card Found" error as well.

  • Your device: Samsung Galaxy S4 GPE (16GB)
  • Device’s Operating System: Android 4.4.2
  • Space left on your device: 7.88 GB
  • Space left on your External SD card: 17.65 GB
  • Is your device rooted: No
  • Are you using a custom ROM, if so which one, exactly?: No, using stock Google Play Edition Android.
  • Your mobile Spotify version: 0.7.4.610.gd7332b3

The error was there since the first time I installed the app yesterday. The only workaround I have found so far is to remove my 32GB Sandisk SD card from the phone, start up the app after clearing its data and then reinsert the sd card. I would however like to be able to store my downloaded music onto the sd card and I doubt this is happening now (is there a way to find out where it gets stored?).

Other things I've tried, none worked.

- clean data/cache + reinstall + start app with sd card inserted

- clean data/cache + uninstall + reboot + reinstall + start app with sd card inserted

Please let me know if you have any other suggestions. Thanks!

Best, betasheet.

Also tried reformatting the SD card, no changes.

Did you reformat the card in the phone?

Yeah, via "Erase SD card" in the settings.

I have recently sent my phone off for repair - previously Spotify worked, tried to install again and just keep getting the error message: 'no SD card Found. We found no place to store our data, please check that you have a working SD card and free space. Do I just not have enough space? I've tried clean re-installation several times, but no joy. You just get a blank screen when the app opens.

Very grateful for any help, not very tech-savvy.

In general Spotify do recommend you have at least 1GB+ of space before trying to sync so I am wondering is that the cause of your issue.
