No more speech to text with search function

No more speech to text with search function

I have my Samsung Galaxy 4 set to automatically update.  It is currently running 5.0.1 Lollipop.

Other apps still allow speech to text when the keyboard appears.  It seems that Spotify is the only app that will not let me use this feature when the keyboard appears.

THIS IS NOT SAFE and should have an extremely high priority to fix because many people (including myself) are trying to  type while driving because we need to find a specific song while driving.  It used to be easy - click search and then hit the microphone and say "Girls Just Want To Have Fun" and voila.

Hey there @121698075! Welcome to the community! 🙂

Have you checked that you have a stable internet connection when trying to use the Speech to text feature?

If you don't have a stable connection, the feature will be disabled! 🙂

If you do have a stable connection then I suggest you try this:

Do a  clean reinstall and see if it helps, This usually fixes most problems 🙂

Note: This will remove any saved offline tracks and cache 🙂

I hope this helped! 🙂

Reinstalling it wont work. Spotify no longer has speech to text. Thinking about switching to another music service. I hate to text and drive.

They really SHOULD make this feature available again. It is irresponsible
to require users to type in songs when this technology exists (and already
worked -- except for that one time when I said "Imagine Dragons" and it
came back with "Magic bag on").

I eventually reinstalled and it changed nothing.

Wouldn't (removing) something like this be in the release notes?

Use Google native speech bar on Android..it works to find a song on spotify.

This one in the image.
