No songs and Playlists empty

My Question or Issue

Any playlist I click on is empty, I can't search for any songs, there is pretty much nothing on the app. I can only see a song if I open it on my computer and it shows up on my phone. Even then I can't switch to playing it on my phone it just shows the name of the song.

I've tried clearing cache, reinstalling, rebooting, using another connection etc.

Ok updating in case anyone finds this, the problem was that my phone was rooted and I had a hosts file to block ads. It was also blocking spotify. If you had updated your hosts file and are having this problem, try removing all occurences of "spotify" from the hosts file.
