No sound after playing one song and stops playlist

Solved!

No sound after playing one song and stops playlist

I've been using Spotify for the past years but I've encountered a problem recently. After it plays one song the next song has no sound, I have to manually start the song again if I want it to play, if i leave it alone though it stops the next song from completely playing. Like for instance I play a song now and after that song the next song has no sound then it just stops moving on to the next song. It's stuck at the last second of the song with no sound. It's really fustrating.. Help would be much appreciated. Btw, I already tried reinstalling it several times, still to no avail.

Exactly the same problem but only on the mobile devices with the songs downloaded. Off the desktop app no problem. Also have a lot of crackling on the speakers on the mobile devices when Spotify first starts playing

I tried the crossfade "fix". It worked. Dunno why but for ME, it worked. Good luck all & Happy tunes to you!!

Gotta have My Spotify!

Same issue here.

I've noticed that only one other user in this thread reports that this is not happening with bluetooth headphones. This is the same for me. What about the others? I may have had the issue without any headphones (playing over the phone speakers), but not sure, this could have been a wifi issue.

Also, when I prevent the screen of my Android phone to switch off (it is on a two-minute timer), the next song plays OK.

I tried a different music app and it does not have this issue, and given the fact that quite a few people report this, it may really be a bug.

I've sent a problem description to the support team, hoping this will be treated with some priority. It is really very annoying, especially for us Premium users.

I love Spotify but now I'm having issues installing on my desktop, AND this same issue with my Android phone. This happened very recently but still come on. I pay for premium and I don't get crap. Also I tend to listen to music constantly, so much so that my mom asks me to take off my headphones 24/7. I need my Spotify back, get this show on the road developers. Running Android 4.1.2

I've been suffering this annoying bug for 3 weeks or so. It really strains my nerves whenever I'm forced to unlock my Samsung Galaxy Express (running Android 4.1.2) in order to get the sound back. In my case, it has become impossible to drive and listen to Spotify Music without putting my safety at stake. Reasons enough to start thinking about saying goodbye to my Premium subscription.

I've been having the same issue, however as soon as I turned crossfade on
it stopped. Although it is a solution it is still quite annoying to listen
too, however it does keep you from having to manually play each song.

that was the problem from the new update. but i found the solution. none of
developer team can do it. if you want i can help u.

So what is the solution? If you can help, it would be nice.

I've had the exact same problem for the last 3-4 weeks after an update. I've tried to remove data+cache and then a reinstall, but it didn't work.

Next, I turned off crossfade - still same problem. Then I turned crossfade on again and increased it to 4 sec - and that fixed the problem!

I just posted that. If you turn on crossfade you are good to go. However it
doesn't require a 4 second crossfade. I don't know if it goes by 1 or 2 but
the smallest will work.

Yes, the crossfade thing is already stated several times in this thread 🙂

I just thought that the more people that write about the same problem and the same "semi-solution", the more attention the Spotify team may attribute to the problem and - hopefully - solve it!

Hmm, sounds like a plan. However I do think that Spotify should already be
aware and at least be putting a minor update out. Spotify has employees and
I believe they should look through the different threads in our community
and help.

I've been having the same issue. I posted about it earlier. Yesterday I noticed there were times when it got through two songs before it went silent. This is getting pretty annoying though. I'm about ready to cancel my subscription and find a new music app. 😞

Hi guys, i had the same problem as you for days but got it fixed yesterday. Here is what i did. i deleted spotify from my phone then i turned of the phone completely for about 5 minutes. after that i turned on the phone again and reinstalled spotify and voila!  works perfectly again 🙂   crossing my fingers that it works for you to . good luck guys 🙂

Unfortunately that's a no go, we've already tried uninstalling and powering
off

Same Problem. Spotify maybe you can think about fixing this problem and keep your paying customers happy. I would suggest a remburstment. I also just got a new phone thinking my device was the issue, nope, still not working.

Same problem for me. One or two tunes will play on Android, then the next song appears to be playing but no sound. Need to either pause and restart or manually go from one song to the next. Impossible when driving and not practcal during a workout, either. Those two uses are why I got Premium! Need a solution!

Instead of fixing the bug they took away the workaround.

What?
