My Question or Issue: Whenever I used to open Spotify within Android Auto, the view was that of the music player with the controls. It no longer opens to that screen and I want to get it back. Have I done something to affect the "view" or have they changed the APP? I have to physically change it everytime and it's a pain in the neck!

Hey @alleacat,

Thanks for reaching out.

Do you mean that the app is opening the Home page instead of the Now Playing View? If possible, please send us a few photos or a short video of how things look on your end so we can be sure that we understand you correctly.

Also, make sure that the Spotify app and your OS are up to date and maybe ask your spouse to check how it behaves with their account/device.

Keep us posted.

I have the exact same issue on Android Auto. For a while now Spotify has been starting on the Home screen and not on the Now Playing screen. It's really annoying. The music is playing, though, but default view at start-up is no longer the Now Playing view, but Home. This might have happened after updating from Android 15 to 16, but I can't be sure.

Spotify and OS is up to date.

Android 16 / Samsung S25 Ultra.
