Phone won't connect to spotify app on car headunit

Phone won't connect to spotify app on car headunit

Phone: Samsung J7 (2016)

Headunit: Pioneer AVH-3100DAB (installed in 2019)

Ever since installing the unit, using the Spotify app has been no problem to use until a few weeks ago.

It refuses to connect or see the phone when trying to use the app, but using the bluetooth audio app on the headunit works completely fine.

So I don't believe it's a problem with the connection. Has a recent update on Spotify made it a problem?

Anyone had a similar problem?

Hey @Mr-Scrub

Thanks for searching for the answer you need here!

Have you tried if a clean reinstall of Spotify on the phone would help with the issue? We recommend this step for removing corrupted data that could prevent the app from operating at full capacity. Follow these steps on how to run a clean reinstall on your Samsung device.

Another thing you can try is updating the firmware of the Pioneer headunit. Check out this help page on how to perform the updates.

Let us know how you get on! We'll be here in case you need any further help with this.

Thanks Ivan for the suggestion, funnily enough after 3 weeks of the issue, it somehow managed to solve itself.

To go over with what you said, I already had the latest firmware but didn't get chance to reinstall spotify before it fixed itself.

Oh well.
