My Question or Issue
Hello,
This issue still persists since the latest Android release on my Pixel 6 Pro...
If I open Spotify and want to search for any artist, album or anything else or if I just want to open any song/album Spotify tooks really long to find anything and ends up with an error.
If I press retry then the search results are loading without any problems. I already tried all the troubleshooting steps like clearing all caches, reinstalled the app multiple times, resetted my device and so on but this issue still persists...
I also already checked my network and connectivity, tried several WiFi networks and the issue also persists within the cellular network of my mobile provider!
Please fix this annoying issue!
Subnote: My girlfriend also has a Pixel 6 device and she's got the same problems as me.
Thanks!
Hey @3lding,
Thanks for posting in the Community.
Could you check the number of Albums saved in Your Library? If there are a lot of Albums there the app may be slowed down. We advise you to remove all of them. The fastest way to do this is through the desktop app.
Give it a go and let us know how it went,
Cheers!
Hey @Dian,
Thanks for your reply. I don't have many saved albums in my profile (there're just 14) so this could not be the cause for my issue.
Hey @3lding,
Thanks for getting back to us!
What we can suggest next is to log out of your Spotify account, then sign back in - twice in a row. You can also turn on Offline mode, then give your device a quick restart and once it boots back up open the App and stop Offline mode to see if you still experience this issue.
We'd recommend that you check the phone's battery settings as well and make sure that Spotify is set as an exception if you're using the battery optimization option. Make sure to check if Spotify has the permissions to run in the background too.
Let us know if that helps. We'll be here if you have any further questions.
Hey @Lyubka,
Thanks for your reply.
The first step sounds a little bit like a workaround and not a solution. Why would logging out and back in twice fix my issue (which btw. didn't resolved anything - the issue still persists)? The same applies to the second one. Don't get me wrong but I'm trying to understand it.
The third step regarding the device battery optimization settings is not needed because this feature is currently turned off.
Hey @3lding,
Thanks for getting back to us.
I'm afraid I can't answer your questions on behalf of @Lyubka, however I'd like to forward your report to our developers for further review. Can you please send us your exact Spotify version (yours and your girlfriend's) along with a video recording showing the issue?
We thank you for your assistance and we look forward to hearing from you soon!
Take care,
Hey @MihailY
Thank you for your reply.
Because I'm unable to upload the screen recording (because its exceeding the upload size limit) - please find the following direct link to it on my OneDrive: https://1drv.ms/v/s!AlAW_X1c948iigLyUClh7_doK3cF?e=A2WGoh
We're using the most recent version of Spotify: 8.7.72.546
Kind regards
Phil
Hey there @3lding,
Thanks for the reply and the video.
We've sent this over to the tech teams to investigate further.
We'll post here as soon as we have more info.
Hi @3lding,
Our tech folks are still investigating this. While we're unable to provide an exact timeline for a fix at this moment, it's recommended to keep the app up to date to ensure you're running the latest version of Spotify.
