Playlist switches to random song when connecting to Bluetooth devices

Whenever I have Spotify playing on my phone and then connect it to a Bluetooth device (my car, a speaker, headphones, etc.), the playlist I am listening to randomly switches to a different song as if I started it over. Is there anyway to stop it from doing this?

Thanks for reaching out about this here in the Community!

Just to confirm, does this only happen when you connect to a Bluetooth device from the mobile app?

If so, we'd suggest checking the following:

• Your device is on the latest software version available.
• Try re-pairing your devices. Here's how you can do that. 
• Log out of Spotify, turn off your device and wait a couple of minutes before switching it on again, then log back into the Spotify app.

If that doesn't do the trick, we'd recommend trying a clean reinstall of the app by following the steps in this Spotify Answer.
