My Question or Issue

Playlists made on desktop version not updating to mobile app.  Reinstalling and loginning back in fixed it once, but not second time.  Tried changing my password and logging out of both. 

Basically any changes made on the desktop version are not showing in the mobile app.

Thanks for posting and welcome to the Community!

 

We'd first recommend making sure of the following:

  • Both your devices have an active internet connection.
  • Make sure there’s enough free space on your mobile device's memory (we recommend at least 1GB).
  • Check your mobile device isn’t in sleep mode.
  • Make sure that Spotify isn't set to be on Offline Mode on your mobile device.
  • Make sure your account has been online at least once within the last 30 days on your mobile device. 
  • Podcasts and albums aren’t available to download on desktop.

If the issue persists after checking that, we'd recommend trying a clean reinstall of the app instead.

 

Here's how to do that on your Android device:

  1. Head here and click Remove all devices.
  2. Go to your Spotify settings, scroll down to Storage and then clear the cache
  3. From the Android home screen, tap Settings > Apps
  4. Find Spotify in your list of apps, tap it and clear the cache and data. Then select Uninstall.
  5. Switch your device off and wait a couple minutes.
  6. Switch your device back on.
  7. Open the Google Play Store then search for and install the Spotify Music app.

Thanks for trying out those steps.

 

Could you let us know if the playlists which aren't updating to your mobile app contain any/only local files?

 

If not, do you notice any similarties in the playlists which are not updating (e.g. the number of songs they contain, if they are Spotify-created playlists versus your own playlists, etc.)?

 

In any case, make sure to provide us with the following info:

  • devices and OS versions
  • Spotify app versions
