My Question or Issue
I have a playlist with a series of albums that play through in-order because there's a story. There are roughly 100 songs in the playlist, and I do have the playlist downloaded to save on mobile data. If I start playing the playlist and look at the queue, it shows the normal 80 songs you would expect.
However, spotify can seldom play all the way through the playlist because it will randomly cut off the queue to only 4 or 5 songs. This tiny segment of the playlist will play and then the music will stop (or switch to [artist] radio). There is no indication that this is happening until the music stops.
I figured out what was happening when I turned on repeat. Once the queue gets cut off, spotify will repeat those 4-5 songs only. If I skip to the previous song, it will skip "backwards" to the last song on the queue, as if I had built a tiny playlist.
It tends to happen most often when I am connected to my car or my JBL Flip 5 via bluetooth. I can sometimes induce this error by skipping a song with the forward button, or restarting a song with the back button.
I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling a clean app according to the instructions I've seen linked on so many other questions, but the problem still occurs. Given the absolute clownshoes design of spotify's queue in general, is this somehow just the intended behavior of spotify's queue, or some feature that I'm just using wrong?
Hey folks!
Sorry to see this is still ongoing.
We are going to try to prioritize this investigation in the hopes that we can finally get to the root cause and fix the issue.
If you haven't already, please let us know the following details:
Many thanks in advance. We'll do our best to get to the bottom of this asap.
I have this issue too! It used to play out a list in its entirety but now (probably the last year) songs will repeat and the only way to listen to all the songs is to play them in order (shuffle off).
It's not a major but its a niggly issue.
Hi there
Argh that's so annoying - I thought a dropbox link would work fine. And then Google Drive and Youtube were both issues for different reasons. So hopefully this vimeo link comes to the rescue. I can't have it unlisted on the free version so I'll delete after this is resolved. Let me know if you have any issues.
Thanks 🙂
Hey @snappydoodle,
Thanks for the reply and the video.
Were you able to reproduce this issue on a different account on your device? We weren't able to reproduce it on our accounts and devices. It may be specific to your account.
Let us know how that went,
Cheers!
I keep experiencing the same issue for a while, at least half a year now. Not really frequently, maybe twice a month, but when it happens it's quite annoying for the following reason:
I just had this problem while listening to a queue of songs from the popular section of an artist. What I noticed is that the loop started with a song that's not in the top 5, therefore not directly selectable via the artists page.
The specs I'm currently using are:
Device: Oneplus 6 (A6003)
OS: Android 11, Oxygen OS 11.1.2.2
Spotify version: 8.7.66.534
The bug keeps appearing only on mobile as far as I noticed.
Yeah I can see it would be hard to reproduce since it has no obvious trigger and only happens infrequently. I don’t have other accounts I could try on my device sorry, but it’s happening to other repliers here (on Android devices as well as my iOS so that doesn’t help!). Maybe we have to wait until more people find more clues. 🤷♀️
Oh interesting, that’s a different context from mine I think, maybe that helps with figuring it out. 🙂
Hey folks,
This being an intermittent issue without being steadily reproducible makes it difficult to be properly looked into. We're still unable to trigger the loop on our end, both it with iOS or Android devices.
The behavior could be related to your specific accounts, so it's worth checking with Customer Support if there's any cached account data that might have been corrupted, as they're the folks who can clear it from their end.
Hope this helps. Let us know how it goes.

Following are links to playlists that I have tested and found to have the queue glitch. Some have a screen capture video showing what happens, and some I forgot to get a video.
The first playlist upon which I understood the issue, playing in order:

A new, very long playlist I created recently to test the issue, playing on shuffle:

Thanks for the incredibly detailed reply @gran_cabrón! We've forwarded the information you shared to our tech folks and we'll keep you posted here as soon as we have any updates on this.
Have a good one!
This has been happening to me for a while too. Glad it isn't just me. Please fix this @spotify
Hi,
I have the same issue with my saved playlist, it repeats twice each song that I have downloaded in the shuffle Mode. Can you support?
Thanks.
Hey,
Can everyone who's using the app version 8.7.68 or 8.7.70 on Android please confirm whether the issue still persists?
Thanks!
Hi didn’t realise this was for Android only. Guessing it really is a bug. It’s affecting MacOS and Android. Please can you confirm?
Will this be resolved in MacOS as well? Can you direct me to the thread for Apple users please? Thanks
I'm using version 8.7.68.568 and the issue is still happening.

My Question or Issue
I've noticed the past few months that if I listen to my like songs and shuffle it, I don't know if it's a glitch, but it'll repeat the same songs. Like it's on a loop.
No matter how much I try to turn on and off the shuffle it doesn't change the order. See picture below for example. I've yet to try uninstalling, but logging off and closing app does not help.
Exactly… no rhyme nor reason but when I hear the same song once an hour on a 4 hour playlist… really. Happens with shorter playlists too, have come to just listening in order rather than shuffling.
I too have experienced the same issue where songs are being repeated when in shuffle play. Not every song but usually every 5 or 6 songs it will then repeat the same song after it's finished.
I'm commenting just to add evidence that this is happening to more people.
I have this exact issue as well, 5-6 songs that loop, it happens with both shuffle mode on and off, a couple times a week on both new and old playlists and albums.
I click on a new song to stop the loop and 5 new song start to loop..
I've so far only noticed it on my phone (Sony Xperia 10 III, Android 12, Spotify version 8.7.74.443)
I have tried the above mentioned solutions, but nothing seems to fix it.
This also happens to me, same six-ish songs loop on an album or playlist instead of the whole album/playlist. I don't add anything to the queue or change anything.
