Randomly skipping songs and pausing podcasts

My Question or Issue

When I back out of the app to let it run in the background and then open it again it will skip the current song or entirely stop playing the podcast episode I'm listening to. It will also stop playing songs in the playlist and will play suggested songs despite not having played the entire playlist.  I have tried to uninstall/reinstall the app and this did not fix it.

Thanks for posting in the Community.

As a first step, can you please go through your phone's settings and make sure that Spotify is allowed to run in the background and is set as an exception in any battery or memory optimizing services? It would also be helpful, if you can test if this happens with a different account or internet connection.

I have the same issue, I have followed the instructions but I keep finding, almost daily, that podcasts will restart, or swipe itself right to start the next podcast (sometime multiple times, which is very frustrating)
