Sound problem.

Sound problem.

Hello

I'm experiencing a persistent playback issue on my Poco F4 running HyperOS 1.0.8.0.

The problem only occurs in Spotify. Whenever I manually press Next to skip to the next track, the new song appears to play normally—the progress bar moves and the track information updates—but there is no sound. If I press Pause and then Play, the audio starts immediately.

This does not happen in any other audio or video apps, so the issue seems to be specific to Spotify.

I have already tried:

  • Reinstalling Spotify.
  • Clearing the app cache and data.
  • Logging out and back in.
  • Disabling battery optimization.
  • Restarting the phone.
  • Disabling audio enhancements such as Dolby Atmos.
  • Disabling Crossfade, Automix, and Volume Normalization.

The issue still persists.

Could you please help me diagnose this problem or let me know if this is a known compatibility issue with HyperOS 1.0.8.0 on the Poco F4?

Hey @RafikSerenity,

Thank you for the detailed report. This looks like it has something to do with how HyperOS manages audio during track transitions - essentially, in my opinion, when you skip, the OS briefly drops the audio stream but Spotify's UI doesn't realize it's lost output.

Here are a few things we can try to resolve this behaviour:

Spoiler
  1. Battery saver/ restrictions - Go to Settings > Apps > Spotify > Battery saver and set it to "No restrictions."

  2. Lock the Spotify app so it doesn't close - In Recent Apps (square button), long-press Spotify and tap the lock icon. Once locked, Spotify will stay open in the background even if you tap the "Close all" (X) button to clear your other apps. To unlock it later, simply long-press Spotify again and tap the lock icon to remove it.
  3. Disable MIUI/ HyperOS audio enhancements at the system level - Settings > Sound & vibration > Sound effects > turn off everything. Even with Dolby Atmos off, HyperOS may still route audio through its own processing layer, which can cause a disconnect.

  4. Toggle "Disable audio offload" in Developer Options - This forces the OS to use a simpler audio path that's less prone to dropping during track switches.

If nothing helps, test with headphones (wired or Bluetooth). This will help us determine if the issue is tied to the speaker output path specifically or all audio routes.

Keep us posted on how things go. We'll be on the lookout for your replies.
