Spotify Blend: Can't manually add songs

Solved!

Spotify Blend: Can't manually add songs

Me and a friend are using android, both clients up to date.
The friend has premium but I have a free account.
They can add add songs manually to blends, while I cannot.
Is the expected behavior?
It doesn't make sense to make someone pay to add songs manually to blends.
Or is this a roll-out feature?
And if so, why do premium users get it first and not just randomly select users like me? (I tried the desktop site on a mobile device out of desperation and to not avail.)

I am runnand Android 8.1.0

Hey @The-10,

@kaworu_bloodpaw is correct. Blends are auto-generated and nobody can add any songs to them manually.
What you might be looking for is the Collaborative Playlist option 🙂

Thanks a lot and happy holidays!

Hi,

I don't think users should be able to manually add songs to a Blend. Are you sure it's a Blend, or just a playlist with you invited as a collaborator?

Oh, yes.
A another friend tested and was able to manually add songs to a blend.
Desktop app can't do this so must be something on mobile I'm not getting?
I don't know why I still can't do it.
And yes, I'm sure its a blend.

Both me and friends were able to add to blends in the past. (NOT collab playlists, *blends*.) I can no longer do so, but my friend quite literally just took one of our past blends and added an entire list of new songs, while I'm unable to edit it. I have collab playlists as well, which are *also* experiencing issues with allowing collaborators to edit.

Solution found! Confirmed: blends are STILL editable. This thread had me thinking it was some discontinued feature. I was having trouble because my desktop app didn't have the most recent update. On my updated mobile app, I can add to old blends now. (As can my friends). I can even change the name from the standard "username + username blend" format.

Hi, could u walk me through how to add manually to blends? Cus it's not working for me and I would love to be able to do that

In the playlist itself, there is an ad button.
This apparently was a rollout, because now I have it too.
You must be running the latest version of the app however, in order to find it.

That must be it then, thank you for your reply 🙂

Can you help me i can add songs manually on the blend but it doesn’t show up me and my friends songs it just shows the ones we added manually

Hey there,

Thanks for reaching out!

@Dr1gsmoney - just to confirm, do you notice any difference after clearing stored cache? Once it's done, try logging out from the app and then back in again. This should resync your account info.

If that doesn't do the trick, can you let us know what device and operating system version you're using, along with the Spotify version? Also, could you check if the Blend appears in the same way on other devices that you use Spotify on?

Let us know how you get on.

Not sure if I made this clear earlier, but I have fixed this issue.
Turns out, the feature was new and hadn’t rolled out to me yet, but once it did, everything was workinNot sure if I made this clear earlier, but I have fixed this issue.
