I have a premium plan. I am in the US. I use Spotify on PC(Windows 10) and Android (Samsung Galaxy S22 Running the latest software UI ver 5.1, Android v13 with all patches).
I play some long playlists in order. I have noticed lately that all of a sudden when playing my playlist from my phone, Spotify will start playing random songs that are not in my playlist. Once it starts playing the random songs, it will not go back to my playlist until I stop playing and pick a song in my playlist again. These are NOT songs in my playlist. It happened twice yesterday on the same playlist and I saw it the other day on a different playlist. I don't have the enhancement thing turned on either. This is very frustrating and annoying.
im getting the same thing too! it keeps saying “in queue” WHAT QUEUE!? I DONT HAVE A QUEUE I CHECKED. HELLO?
Had this issue myself and it was in fact a queue from 2 weeks ago persisting - I erroneously assumed the queue was cleared automatically after some time.
I'm also having this issue. Was there a resolution?

My Question or Issue
Please read the problem - The list was not even close to done so your explanation was not valid.
Unfortunately I don't have a "fix" for this. In my instance it just stopped happening. I don't remember if there was an update to the app and then it stopped or what.
I know most of these comments are old- but this is happening to me now as well. Specifically on my liked list playlist. If I go into other playlists I'm fine but when I'm trying to play my liked list when I click play it SAYS it's playing but then when I click my song it says it's from recommended tracks- and the queue is filled with only 1-2 of my songs while the rest are ones I've never even played before? What is happening
For me, the issue I was experiencing was the same as what someone else mentioned above:
1) Spotify doesn't actually clear the queue after the app closes or is unused for long periods, as I expected it to.
2) I accidentally added an album/playlist to my queue.
Clearing my queue resolved the "issue".
