My Question or Issue

As the title says, my music keeps pausing randomly after my phone is locked. Usually when It's in my pocket it will just randomly pause and then immediately start as soon as I wake my phone up. I don't need to physically resume my music or unlock my phone, just hitting the lock button is enough to start it again.

-This ONLY happens to Spotify. Samsung music and Youtube are unaffected by this.

-It also happens in my car too while connected to Bluetooth. Same solution.

-I thought it might be poor earphones connection but it also happens on speakers and Samsung music is fine with earphones so it's not them.

-All my songs are stored locally/offline so connection isn't an issue.

-Gesture control is off.

-Doesn't happen on Windows 10.

Restarting the phone, or closing all other apps sometimes works but sometimes makes the problem worse. This is becoming a really annoying issue now, I'm having to leave my phone unlcoked and open constantly just to listen to music like it's the non-premium youtube app. Any solutions or help are appreciated!

I haven't reinstalled yet, I will soon but I have so much music downloaded and my rural internet speed is terrible so I'd rather hold off for a bit and try other solutions first.

Hey @M523, thanks for coming to the Spotify Community!

Could you first check your phone's settings (Device Maintenance -> Battery Usage -> Spotify) and make sure the "Sleep Mode" switch is toggled off? If you can't find that switch or it doesn't help your issue, can you try reinstalling the app by deleting it, restarting your phone, and then installing Spotify?

Let me know how it goes 🙂
