My first suggestion is that you check if you have a VPN installed in your mobile. If so, try disabling it and restart Spotify to see if it works.
No VPN, no issue on the wifi or datta provider's end, and no update or change on my Spotify instalation to cause it.
Spotify just seems to think that either my phone isn't in the US, or that my region on my account is not the US, or maybe that now specific areas of the US are region-locked.

In this case, can you please log out > back in twice in a row for a resync of the account and device?
Also, I suggest you to check your country settings on another device (preferably on desktop) to make sure that everything's correct there.
Then, if you're able to log in on another device, but still not in the mobile app, a clean reinstall may be a good idea.

So, I can't log in, and therefore I can't log out. It gives me this statement about being abroad upon trying to log in. I can log in fine on Desktop. My region is set to the US everywhere I can see and/or change that information.

Hello, I know I'm spencer but I'm replying because I'm currently having the same issue.
I recently factory reset my device and upon trying to download spotify and log in, I was having the same issue. Spotify was also the first app I installed.
I'm able to login fine on my computer and everywhere else, it's just my phone that's causing me issues.
I'm a part of my dad's family plan and upon checking my account region it says USA, which is where I'm located.
Anything that can be done to help with this issue?

I am also actively having this issue, and I've tried deleting and reinstalling the app. Nothing is working. It works thru the browser, but that's impractical. I'm on my dad's family plan, so I don't even know what I'm supposed to do. I've tried logging in several times over, I don't have any VPN, and I'm so lost. I'm at home, I don't know what the app wants from me. What's the point of having premium if I can't use it whenever I want?
