Spotify thinks I'm abroad?

Spotify thinks I'm abroad?

I can't log in to Spotify on Android. It says I can only use Spotify Abroad for 14 days. I haven't left my town in months. A town only a few hundred miles from the exact center of the mainland US, sp there is no way I could have accidentally connected to a tower in Mexico or Canada. What's worse is it says I should change my regions in my settings, but gives zero indication of what region it thinks I'm in.

Spotify keeps asking me to upgrade to Premium, but why would I when every other week it utterly breaks in a different way?

Hi @spencer_britton, thanks for reaching out!

 

My first suggestion is that you check if you have a VPN installed in your mobile. If so, try disabling it and restart Spotify to see if it works.

No VPN, no issue on the wifi or datta provider's end, and no update or change on my Spotify instalation to cause it.

 

Spotify just seems to think that either my phone isn't in the US, or that my region on my account is not the US, or maybe that now specific areas of the US are region-locked.

In this case, can you please log out > back in twice in a row for a resync of the account and device?

 

Also, I suggest you to check your country settings on another device (preferably on desktop) to make sure that everything's correct there.

 

Then, if you're able to log in on another device, but still not in the mobile app, a clean reinstall may be a good idea.

So, I can't log in, and therefore I can't log out. It gives me this statement about being abroad upon trying to log in. I can log in fine on Desktop. My region is set to the US everywhere I can see and/or change that information.

That's odd.

 

I guess a clean reinstall of the app might help - can you please try it?
