Starts in background and app does not show that it is playing

My Question or Issue

Spotify starts playing in the background when connected to Bluetooth headphones or car BT system. But the Spotify app does not show that the song is being played. I need to push the "start/play" button and then "pause" in order to pause the song that was initially played. 

at the same moment car BT audio system displays wrong name of the song: it displays the same name that is seen in the app. But in fact, it is a different song that is being played. 

then if you push "play">pause>play: again, the same issue - one song is being broadcasted, but the other is on a display.

So it looks like that there are two Spotify app instances running at the same time: the one that is currently broadcasting a song through BT, and the other instance that is running on the phone but is at the "pause" stage but broadcasting the name of the "paused" song.

Samsung bixbby is de-activated.

Android is fully updated. Spotify as well.

You could try running a clean reinstall of the Spotify app on you phone, following this exact guide.
