Starts skipping songs, starts up in background

App worked fine on my old phone (Samsung Note 5) and I recently upgraded to the Note 8 and started having issues with songs skipping. Sometimes it will work fine, and other times the songs will play a few seconds a day start skipping to the next track over and over. When this happens and I close out of the app, it starts playing in the background after a few seconds and skips song. I have to uninstall the app to make it stop. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I would hate to have to cancel my subscription.
