Stop from displaying on phone

When I'm listening on my computer and DON'T start Spotify on my phone how do I prevent Spotify from starting and displaying what I'm listening to on my phone?

Pixel 2XL running Q beta 3 but this happened on stable builds too.

This is part of the Spotify Connect feature. Unfortunately, there is no way to disable it right now. You can vote for this idea though. One day Spotify may consider implementing it.
