The app keeps turning on shuffle and repeat

The app keeps turning on shuffle and repeat

Every time I start Spotify or push it to background, the app activates shuffle and repeat on itself.

 

I've tried

  • Clearing the cache
  • Clearing data
  • Logging out and logging in
  • Uninstall and re install

Still having the same results.

I'm using the 9.0.74.1121 Android version of the app

Have you noticed this happening when you're connected to another device, such as a smart speaker, TV, etc. or is it only on your phone? Has this been going on for a long time and did it start after a specific event, such as an app or system update, for example? 

 

In case you have any third-party apps linked to your Spotify account, try disconnecting them to see if that helps. It might also be worth testing this out without an internet connection by setting the app in Offline mode to check if the issue would still occur.

O kept those couple of weeks observing the behavior. And it does happen when it's connected to my car's radio. I wasn't able to be sure it happened with my earbuds too, but I think it didn't

Thanks for the reply.

 

We resolved a similar issue on our end recently, so hopefully this should work on your end now too. Please perform a full clean reinstall and make sure your app is on the latest version. Test it out and let us know if the issue persists and if it only happens with specific output devices or for example when playing via Bluetooth or Connect.

Before coming to the forum, I've already had done a full clean reinstall, and I'm still getting this problem 😞

We've been investigating the aforementioned behavior in this thread. Some users have reported that this happens when connecting their device to their cars, so we highly recommend you post your experience there, along with all the info requested by @Maria here.
