My Question or Issue

I usually download playlists to my SD card when I'm out and about to save on data usage, so I can enjoy music offline.
However, recently, playlists I downloaded to the SD card have started disappearing suddenly, and I often have to restart the download process from the beginning.
I've tried reinstalling Spotify, performing a clean install, and attempting to redownload playlists to the SD card, but the problem persists.
If anyone has any ideas on how to resolve this issue, I would greatly appreciate your wisdom.
Thank you in advance.

By the way, it's already downloaded to the SD card, but for some reason, offline playback isn't working.

Hi there @Kaizel_Metal,

Thanks for reaching out. We'll be glad to help you enjoy your music wherever you go.

You've already done quite a bit of troubleshooting, which is great, so let's see if the issue is perhaps with the SD card itself. To start off, consider trying the following:

  1. Unmount your SD card from your Android settings.
  2. Remove the SD card from the device
  3. Clean Reinstall Spotify
  4. Reinsert your SD card and reboot your device
  5. Make sure the SD card is selected as Storage location in the app again afterwards.

Keep in mind that a reinstall will remove your Spotify downloads and you'll have to download them again afterwards, so we hope this won't cause you too much trouble given that you said you already reinstalled once.

Hope this helps.

Hi,Joan.
Thank you for your reply.
After that, I tried the method you suggested, but the problem was not resolved.

Hey @Kaizel_Metal,

Thanks for your reply.

We're sorry to hear that didn't help. Issues with SD cards are usually caused by the card itself so if that's an option, try formatting it by following this guide. If you're using it for anything else other than storage for your offline playlists, make sure to create a backup of your data.

If you don't want to format it, you can try removing any leftover cache that could be corrupted:

  1. Uninstall Spotify thoroughly (don't install it just yet).
  2. Using your Files app go to SD card > Android > data > com.spotify.music > files and try deleting everything inside. If the system won't let you delete any files, navigate to the spotifycache folder found in the same location and rename it to something else.
  3. Remove the SD card from your Android device.
  4. Install Spotify.
  5. After installing, reinsert your SD card.

Let us know how it goes!
