Hey @jessy4paws,
Welcome to the Community and thank you for posting this thread! If this behavior doesn't persist on your other Samsung phone, then it's very likely it's a device-related issue.
We'd like to look into it and it would be helpful if you could let us know the following details:
Appreciate the cooperation and we'll be on the lookout for your response.
Thank you so much for your reply. The ticking noises are only with Spotify, no other apps. I only listen directly from the phone. The problem happens the same with wi fi, mobile data and offline. The things I have done to try and fix the problem are turn off and on phone, uninstall and reinstall Spotify, tried every sound setting and data quality setting there is and cleared the cache and downloads several times.
I also just opened Spotify on my PC and it has no ticking noises, like my old phone.
Thanks for the quick response, @jessy4paws and for including the steps you've already tested.
Could you check for any 3rd party apps that may be installed on your phone that may be causing the audio issue? You could also check if you've given permission to any apps via the Account Page here. Perhaps look for any equalizer app(s) you can disable/remove.
Something else that comes to mind is to make sure that your phone isn't using any power saving options or battery optimization apps.
Keep us posted.
Hello, earlier today I set the phone's own equalizer app to balanced and turned off loudness normalisation, this seemed to reduce the ticking for a while but it is now ticking just as bad and maybe worse. I can't see any other apps on my phone which could cause the issue. I have removed two permissions via your Account page link which has not changed the ticking. I have no power saving in place or any battery optimisation apps. The ticking is really driving me crazy. What else can you suggest? Thanks very much
While playing a track, I clicked on the bottom left Connect icon and turned the volume from the half way to full. So far, this seems to have stopped the clicking...
Hey there @jessy4paws,
Thanks for keeping us in the loop.
You mentioned that the issue stopped happening when you turned the volume from the half way to full; just to confirm, if you change it back does the issue resurface?
If so, we know you already tried reinstalling the app, but would you mind going through the steps of a clean reinstall, as it's more thorough than a normal one?
However, if this behavior keeps happening after performing a clean reinstall, sending us a screen recording of it would come in handy. You can attach it to your next response by using the Insert Video option in the post editor. You can also upload it to Google Drive and share the link with us (make sure the video has the permissions for anyone to see it).
We'll be waiting for your reply.
