Unable to delete cache

Unable to delete cache

Hi everyone! I have this really nagging problem which I'm unable to fix without fetching an adapter for my microSD-card. The problem is that I'm unable to delete spotifys cache. And (probably somehow related) according to my filemanager, spotifys folder takes up about 300gb on my 64gb-card...

Someone know of an effective method to delete this folder? I've tried from my computer through USB, with the stock filemanager, and by clearing the cache through androids appmanager. Nothing works.

Any ideas?

Hi. What  happens if you use the phone's file manager?

Already tried, as said in my text 😞

I asked what happens. In ther words do you get an error message or what?

"Unable to delete" through any filemanager. No error from either "clear cache" in appmanager or PC through usb.

OK thanks. Are you running android 4.4? If so it restricts folder permissions to the app which created the folder and system apps. You should be able to deelete such folders using the file manager which came with the phone ("My Files" on my samsung) but not with a file manager you downloaded. If that won't work, you can back up any important files then reformat the SD card.

Yeah, thats my next try (formatting). But I'm abit confused about what files I should backup from the SD. Do you know if it's safe to delete android/obb? 'Cause it takes up "71gb" somehow, and named with some other charset.

Only personal stuff needs backing up - photos etc. The android folder will be recreated on formatting.

Okay. Somehow I've gotten another/a transformed problem. I'm unable to format the SD-card. I've have no idea why though since the card seems usable except the original issue. And I'm able to delete other files without a hassle.

If you get the error message "“Android unable to format SD card”, the chances are that your SD card may be close to failing. If it's an old card, probably best to replace it. You might be able to format it with a laptop or a PC with a card reader.

That's another wierd part. It says it's successful 😕
