Unfixable lag ruining my life

I've been a Spotify premium subscriber for over a year now and for the past few months I've suffered from a consistent, annoyingly specific problem that customer support nor the internet has been able to help me with. The problem is that there is a consistent lag/stuttering every few seconds, only on my phone when the screen is off and I'm using auxillary headphones. Literally every other situation music plays fine, but the one scenario I use most often (my phone in my pocket with headphones in) is unbearable with this lag. Like I said, I've been unable to find anyone to help me with this, I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, clearing all the data, turning off battery optimization, normalizing the stream quality and nothing at all has worked. I would appreciate any help whatsoever with this extremely annoying problem.
