Videos on home screen autoplay despite auto play turned off in settings
Hey @onlytocomplain,
Thanks for reaching out.
Please note that the Autoplay toggle in your app settings relates to a different feature which you can read more about here.
Currently, there's no setting to prevent the videos on your Home feed from playing automatically, however, we really appreciate your feedback as it helps us to improve our service.
We're here for you if there's anything else you wish to address!
Please don't waste my mobile data with content I'm not interested in. What a shitty app this has become
Please stop wasting my mobile data with content I don't want to encounter
+1 to this. I do not want autoplay random videos on my home screen! Is there a feature request for this I can vote up?
Hey folks,
Something that may help here is turning off animations in your device's settings - what they're called may vary depending on the manufacturer, but in general look for "animation speed", "animation effects", "motion effects", etc.
We understand this isn't ideal, and we’re regularly testing and launching new features and improvements to the app. Your feedback on this is important, as it may ultimately end up paving the way for our broader user experience, so thanks for sharing it here - we appreciate it

Hey @onlytocomplain,
Thanks for returning.
It's worth mentioning that there are other users that share a similar opinion to yours, and there's currently a Live Idea here which is about the ability to disable all video content on Spotify. You can take a look and add your vote in order to show your support. You can also subscribe to the Idea thread in order not to miss any updates on the matter.
We're just a post away if you need us.
@ivelina: thanks for your reply. But I don't get how this is relevant to this topic.
If it actually is the same issue, merge the topics, if it's something else, why are you writing this?
