Volume drops and I cannot turn up again! (Android - Samsung Galaxy Ace 3)

After 30+ minutes of playback, the app automatically turns down the song I'm listening to. I'll

turn it up again but as soon as I release the volume slider, it immediately slides itself back down.

It happens with random songs and doesn't seem to be anything to do with muting for a notification - there are never any calls / texts coming through when it happens.

It does it even if I close the app and restart or skip to another song. I've reinstalled a couple of times but it hasn't fixed it.

It's so annoying and is making the app impossible to use reliably. 

Can anyone help please?
