What happened to the "Artists" page?

What happened to the "Artists" page?

I've just recently updated to the latest Spotify version.

Now when I click on an artist under the "Artists" page, it takes me to that artist's page, with their top 5 songs etc. instead of a list of all the songs I have currently downloaded on my phone, from that artist (as it used to).

What the hell is going on? How can I go back to browsing by artist? Do I have to just uninstall Spotify and install an older version?

This is such a joke.

My "All Songs" page doesn't even load, it just sits there with the spinning green circle.

Oh, I see, it appears I've been downgraded from premium. Which is a bit darn weird, considering my last payment was only 21 days ago.

What the hells is wrong with this company.

How do I get my premium status reinstated?

Seems my account is still premium, but I'm still getting upgrade prompts here/on my account. Along with that, my mobile (android) version seems to have all the free features, rather than premium (can't save songs, only shuffle etc.).

Tried restarting my phone/spotify. Only happened after the last update.

So infuriating getting in the car to go to work, only to find out I can't play music. Radio is no substitution!

Can you try logging out and back in again?

Tried that, to no avail. Uninstalled spotify (as I read in another thread), and reinstalled.

Seems to be fixed, but now I have to sit through the tedium of forcing Spotify to download all the songs I had.

Wish there was a way to see what songs are actually downloaded. The green download icon is just wrong.

You can filter your albums, playlists etc to show just downloaded items. Pull down from the top of the playlist page and you'll see search and filters become available to you

I know that. But that doesn't actually show the songs that are downloaded. Just the ones that I've ticked to download.

Plenty of times I've clicked on one of the songs marked as downloaded, and its started streaming it, rather than playing from my SD (you can pretty easily tell, looking at the data usage).

It's a **bleep** system, the whole point of me downloading songs on my wi-fi is because I don't want to use my mobile data.

Just a quickquick check on the original question... How are you getting to the artists section? Are you going through 'browse'? If so, try tapping on' My library' and then the artists sub section.

I'm going through My Music -> Artists.

Now when it does that, it shows all the artists I have saved (I'm using the "Downloaded" filter), along with the number of songs I have saved under their name.

There are still times when the songs are marked as downloaded, but need to stream in order to play.

Sigh. Nevermind me thinking it was fixed in any way, shape or form.

Had to restart my phone today. Upon opening Spotify I was delighted to find my artist page had reverted, once again, to only showing their top 5, and the band info, etc.

Logging in and out didn't help.

I've put up with a lot of crap from spotify, but if I'm expected to uninstall the app, reinstall it and download 2000 songs every day, I'll be cancelling my premium.

This problem has only occurred since the latest update, though, so I guess I could just download an older version and live with it.

I take it the issue of not having premium features has gone away now?

In regards to the artists page not loading correctly I cannot replicate it myself. If I click on an artist in the 'My Library' section then it will show me any albums also stored in my library.

What version of the Spotify app are you using?

When I click on an artist in the "My Library" section, it shows the same artist page the loads when you click on an artist in the "Browse" section of the app.

This problem was resolved when I uninstalled and reinstalled Spotify. After restarting my phone, the issue came back, and I can now only see the "Browse" version of artist pages, rather than the albums/songs as you would expect, when looking under the "My Library" version.

I'm using v4.8.0.1004, which is the one that the Google store automatically installed.
