What is with the downfall of the Spotify updates recently?

Recently I have re-downloaded Spotify inorder to listen to an individual song that wasn't available in YouTube, keep in mind I haven't used Spotify is probably a year or so, so you can imagine my surprise when I came back to being unable to listen to songs in a specific order, not being able to even go back to the last song I wanted, and Spotify adding more songs on my playlist despite me not wanting any other songs added. I get that Spotify wants to pursuade users to go the Spotify premium, but it makes no sense to restrict previously free to use features. I have also noticed that Spotify premium users are having issues regarding Spotify. These updates are making me want to just leave Spotify as a whole as opposed to switching to Spotify premium.
