Why do the podcasts i listen to sometimes play in the wrong order?

Sometimes when I listen to podcasts, they play in correct order - oldest to newest. But sometimes the play in backward order - from newest to oldest.

I haven't changed any settings for playing order - it is always set to form oldest to newest.

This problem has been going on for years and it's getting more annoying.

I tried to reproduce this issue on my end and here is what I have observed: 

1. Play the podcast from your library -> it remembers the last order that you set.
2. If I play it from the home screen -> it doesn't remember the order I set in the library (oldest to newest or vice-versa).
3. Similarly if I play the podcast from another place in-app it again forgets about the order.

I think that this is the current behaviour. It doesn't remember the podcast order across sections which could be why you are facing this problem.

Try double checking the order and just to make sure, change it once and then back to the order that you want. Then play the episode and see how the queue is sorted.
