android car bluetooth track info not updated

Hello,

I use a Samsung S8+ with my car (Subaru WRX) via Spotify directly on by using Android Auto. The audio works and the first track info is OK, but the track info is stuck there, no updates are send to the car display ?!?!

Tried with other music apps, and the display alway gets refreshed

Asked my Subaru dealer if there were a firmware update ? and no

Seems the problem is with Spotify and the bluetooth used on my particular car 😞

anyone solved this ?

I only have Android Auto through the app because my car's not new enough (don't regularly use it). Is that what you're talking about as well? Maybe it's because Spotify can only broadcast its bluetooth info to one other app at a time. That being the case though, couldn't you mount your phone (as you presumably do with Android Auto) and use the Spotify player on the screen to identify the track?

If you're talking about car-integrated Android auto then doesn't that already replace the car display?

Yes, Android auto app! I could very well do that, but it still irks me having my other radio display with the wrong info!

Also want to point out that I have ZERO issues with ANY other app in my car.  I think I will be canceling my subscription, because Spotify also seems to have problems streaming to the Google Home devices recently also.
