auto play app marshmallow anyone? in car

Hi.
on older android and spotify I had an app that most of the time used to manage to auto play spotify in my car when BT connected ...but now nothing seems to work 😢
...really wish spotify devs would add this feature 😕
...anyone found a good app to do this?

Just to double-check, is Spotify connecting correctly via Bluetooth to your car but then you can't use the app?

yes my phone is connected to the cars Bluetooth..I've noticed that the app is often in the foreground when I later open the phone later, but just hasn't played 😕
I'm using a Samsung s6 running marshmallow and spotify is latest play store version

It's not just bluetooth though. I've tried everything to make Spotify start playing music when I connect headphones and it's impossible. I have to put the headphones on, wait 30 seconds or more until Spotify caches everything, then press play. Poweramp can do it. Google Play Music can do it. Apple Music possibly can do it (I cancelled it after one day because the Android app is HORRID). When I switch to offline Spotify takes 5 seconds to open but still won't autoplay.
