can't change quality settings

Can't change audio streaming quality over cellular, says data saving in Android is on while it's clearly not. However I can change video quality which I don't even care about, restarted the app multiple times, even by force stopping the app. Feels like incompetence or deliberate to lower traffic, because the setting often resets after updates without notifying me, which makes it feel very on purpose

Can you also make sure that Data Saver is not on in Spotify's settings? You should be able to find it in Data-saving and offline. Are you connected to an external Bluetooth device when you're trying to adjust these settings? If so, try disconnecting from it temporarily to see if that makes a difference. Can you also check your phone's battery settings and make sure that Spotify is set as an exception there in case you're using any battery optimization options?

We'd also recommend performing a clean reinstall of the app to make sure any damaged cache will be removed, since it's possible that it might be causing the issue. Try logging out and back in a couple of times in a row afterwards to get everything synced as well. Another thing that's worth the shot is logging in your account on a friend or relative's phone to check if the options are greyed out there as well. This will help us figure out if it's device-related.
