downloading offline files - suuuper slow

brand new phone, samsung galaxy S3.

therefore, brand new install of spotify.

today, at the office with a 100Mbit downstream connection (of which my phone should get at least ca. 50Mbit on WiFi), started to download playlists for offline use.

and it's horribly slow!

started an hour ago, and only two playlists have been downloaded so far.

despite our super fast office internet connection!

i can't see how fast the APP downloads the songs from the spotify SERVERS though...

is that the bottleneck? are you setting a limit to how fast an app can download songs?!

note: i'm downloading in "extreme quality", and i marked about 20 or so playlists for download, over an hour ago.

in the notification bar it says "10 out of 173 tracks (5%)" and progress is really, really slow.

why is the download so slow???

again, i'm connected to a superfast office broadband connection.

android 4.1.2 (T-Mobile UK, stock)

How many tracks would you say there are in those 20 playlists you have marked? 

Offline sync of playlists does seem to take a while on any device, it takes me a whole 24 hours to resync my BlackBerry client after a cleanout, and thats only 2,000 tracks at regular quality!

it finished eventually, really picked up pace i the end.

wow, 24 hours for 2,000 tracks. 

i'm nowhere near that number. i think i've just downloaded 300 or so, of which a handful are 70+mins tracks (DJ sets).

assuming 2MByte per minute (is that right? i think extreme quality is 320kbit/s, which would make a 4min track about 8MB big?)

and guestimating the tracks at 5 mins per track (most of mine are longer)... 

it would have been around 3GB of data to download, i guess?
