music will not play through wired headphones on samsung phone

i have uninstalled app and re-installed.
The headphones work --- can hear clicks when choosing playlist, etc.
Will play music without headphones plugged into phone.
Was working fine for years, and then just stopped.

Thank you for keeping in contact.

If other apps are showing the same behavior, it's probably not related to Spotify, but to the device itself or the headphones. So in this case, we'd recommend trying other wired headphones with your phone to see if it makes any difference. If the issue persists, to confirm if the issue could be related with the outlet of your device, we'd recommend checking on another device with the same wired headphones to see if the issue persists.

This type of issue is commonly related to some damaged cache stored on your device. We understand you’ve already tried some troubleshooting steps including reinstalling, but to be sure that we're on the same page - did you use the steps for a clean reinstall mentioned in this article?

 

If so, and the issue persists, would you mind checking if this happens using a different music or video app? If not, include in your next response the make, model, and OS version of your device, along with the Spotify version you're currently running to continue investigating the case.

At first I only did a quick re-install, so I have now done clean re-install as instructed in the article you attached.

 

the sound is still not working properly. 

I checked the sound in Instagram and it has the same problem. 

Find through phone speaker, not working through wired  headphones.

 

I am using a Samsung A51 phone, model SM-A515W, not sure where you find the OS,

version of spotify that I just downloaded from google play 8.9.50.552

The headphones work fine plugged into the laptop, so I guess it's a problem with the phone port.

Maybe I'll buy wireless headphones and see if that works.
