1) In the name of GOD, HOW DO I DISABLE THIS?!?!?!?!?!?!
2) The employee responsible for this needs to FIRED IMMEDIATELY!!!! (Preferably out of a canon)
3) Why on earth would you think it's a good idea to NAG your paying customers multiple times a day?!?! This is completely unacceptable. Not to mention that podcasts suck on spotify. I, like most who listen to podcasts, have a separate (and vastly superior) app for that and have no interest in EVER listening to podcast in spotify. I wish I could deactivate the entire podcast section in my app, DEFINITELY

Every time I get in my truck I get this notification. Please turn this feature off.
Turned off all notifications but still getting this annoying message. Please switch it off.
Hey folks,
Thank you for the information you've shared.
This notification looks like the “Reminder to use navigation apps”. Keep in mind that this option can be deactivated from your app settings.
First, hit the Settings button on the home screen of your mobile app. Under Voice Assistants and Apps you'll find the option Navigation & Other Apps. Make sure that the option "Get a reminder to use navigation apps when you're in your car" is toggled off.
Give it a try and let us know how it goes.
Tried that but didn't make any difference
It is a problem with the update (or a really massive coincidence). I have tried all the standard IT stuff... Clear data/cache, reinstall, tested all of the toggles....Is someone working on a fix?
I had a chat with the lovely Shiela on Chat and looks like the issue has been fixed on my phone!!! (Just went for a drive)
Try removing any navigation apps from your apps page at https://www.spotify.com/account/apps/
In my case, I removed google maps and got no notification when I switched the car on! YAY!
^^ Will try that. But then what happens to Google Maps, does it stop showing the Spotify controls?
Chatted with support and I have got a workaround.
Go to phone settings and find apps, then under there you can find notifications. In there disable "car" notifications. So far has worked for me.
This notification is the most annoying thing ever. I think I found a way to disable it.
When the notification shows up don't swipe it away. Swipe just far enough to reveal the settings gear icon. Tap the settings icon and you should see settings to silence or disable the notification. Also mentioned in another comment you can go to your application settings by dragging down from the top. Once there tap on notifications under Spotify app and turn off "car".
Oh my God, make it stop! I am in and out of my truck all day for work and any notification I get on the road is something that needs to be addressed. And then Spotify puts this herpes on my phone and I can't get rid of it. I am not a four year old. When I want Spotify on, I turn it on. I don't forget that I like or listen to music.
I found the perfrect solution. I uninstalled the Spotify app and canceled my account. No more unnecessary notifications! Easy peasy. Goodbye Spotify and good luck with your strategy of nagging paying customers instead of focusing on providing a good user experience.
This feature needs to go. It steals attention from people while they are pulling out into the road and it will cause an accident and when it does I hope Spotify get the credit for it. Whoever had this bright idea needs to get their head checked. It's very simple, do not interfere with people who are driving!
This didn't fix it
This is the one that worked! THANK YOU!!!!
On my device, LG Android 11, you can turn it off by holding down on the notification and click the settings symbol. Then turn off "Auto". I just turned it off, so I will let you guys know if it works!
