track won't play on phone, but plays on desktop.

Hi,

I've got a little, but annoying problem. I recently re-upgraded to premium. Now I have a track that won't play on my phone. (samsung s4) I get the message: this number is not available. The track will play on my desktop.

It is a local file. (but all the other local files play just fine on my phone) It is a mp3 file. I've tried to make it available off-line. Copied the song to my phone. I have searched the help section and the internet, but I haven't found a solution. Any help would be appreciated.

Like i said. It is not a big problem, but it just bugs me that I can't find the solution.

It'sprobably because the particular song is also available to stream in Spotify. It can sometimes be temperamental with files like this as you may find the local song you have is slightly longer in track length and this caused confusion.

Try searching the song on Spotify and just add it to a playlist rather than try to local sync.

Of this isn't the case then let me know and we'll try some other options.

Ok. So will the track play on your stock player if you physically move it to the phone and play it as a local file? The container is mp3 but it may be encoded with an incompatible codec

Yes. It plays on the stock player. It works on different players on my phone.

That is odd then. I recommend you contact Spotify Support using the form here.

You will get an automated reply at first, however if you need to chase them just reply to the email as it does get monitored.
