why would you remove the ability to play local files ?

why would you remove the ability to play local files ?

I have used spotify intensively since I got a premium account. However the new update breaks the most useful feature, being able to play your own mp3s with the spotify app. I used the app as a unified media player for my mobile. Great, now I have to either get a new app just to play mp3s or I have to use the crappy standard player, that doesn't play songs once the battery is below a certain threshold...

Why would you remove these core features of a media player app? It doesn't make any sense and I hope you reconsider.

I'm wondering the same thing - especially since it's a feature they advertise on their website.

I'm missing this feature too! Please put it back.

ditto.

here is one temporary possible solution. on yhour desktop create a playlist called 'local' and add all your personal mp3s to it. then wirelessly sync this playlist with your device.

however, one problem with this solution is that there does not appear to be a way to move this playlist to my SD card and i don't have enough room on the device for the full playlist.
