Heart button replaced by plus sign

How come i can no longer put a heart on a song and instead a plus sign is there? Is there a way to change this?

I thought I was experiencing an app malfunction or something like that, so I decided to reach out to customer service and that's how I learned about this. I wish there was a way to permanently reverse this feature and get back to the old heart button, the plus button makes my user experience so frustrating.

The heart made it very easy for me to add songs to my liked songs playlist. Personally, when I came across old liked songs that I forgot about, I liked to unlike and like again quickly to move them back up in my list, but now that is an annoying process with the new button. I also used to like songs without looking at my phone while driving because I memorized the placement but I can’t do that anymore. BRING THE HEART BACK

Why the **** would they think replacing a ‘one-button’ action by ‘press “+”, choose which playlist, and press “finish” again’ would be better? Which **bleep** did y’all hire to even give this suggestion.. **bleep**. Long story short change it back hella fast pls 😭😂

Why did they remove the feature to add a song into multiple playlists at once! It was so useful being able to do this and seeing what playlists songs are already in, please add that feature back 😕

Absolutely trash change. Hate it and makes me want to drop Spotify. The heart was the best and easiest feature about this app.

Am I the only one who noticed that Bad Bunny had his own custom heart (red one from Un Verano sin ti) when you liked any of his songs. So sad to see this button was removed, guess I’m switching to Apple Music.

Also the like button was so essential for me because it allowed me to unlike and relike a song to have it at the top of my “liked songs” playlist again. I do this everyday so Spotify just ruined 90% of my great experience now. No point of using it anymore, going to Apple Music

I dislike this update so much. Its over complicated and confusing.I miss the simple click of a button to like and dislike a song. Instead I think Spotify should have an easier way to unlike songs and they need to fix how you find accounts Ive always had trouble finding accounts  especially my friends.

Ok I see where y'all where going on this its good in all but I think you should keep this and the heart.Like leave the ability to like songs quickly but add the ability to (un)add songs to a bunch of different playlists at the same time.Also fix the ad system because it will say “listen to this ad for 30 mins to listen ad free” but then there will be an ad right after. Other than that I don't have any issues except for when I tap a song and it takes me to a playlist which is annoying. But thank-you developers for all of which you do spotify is my happiness <3333

Hi Trey! For some reason I can't reply to the thread that you linked. I just wanted to provide my quick feedback about Spotify removing the heart and replacing it with a plus sign. It dissapoints me because the heart is a more meaningful symbol. Seeing hearts has been proven to increase euphoria in humans! A plus sign is so blah. Everything around us in life has become so robotic like and de-humanizing. I just feel like the ❤️ is a greater more meaningful symbol. I know this may sound dramatic because it's just a small change, but I was genuinely dissapointed when I noticed the change. Anyways I hope this helps! Thanks for reading this.

Yes I really don’t like this change either. I use the heart sign to see if it’s a song I have not added before and can thus discover new music

the change is really bad, please put it back some people don’t have playlist so the feature is useless for them..

Me personally I loved the way the heart next to an album cover made me feel like it was just adorable and now it’s gone for a plus.

I completely agree. I liked looking down and knowing which songs I already have saved within a new playlist, and now I can't do that.

I’m not a fan either.  I used to just hit the love button on my watch.  Maybe they should bring it back for those of us that prefer that and leave the plus sign for others that like it and have a setting for individual preference.

i can’t reply in the listed thread link but the plus button ain’t it.

it create an extra unnecessary step to adding it to your liked songs and when scrolling through another uses playlist, i can no longer easily see what songs i may have liked.

it also just looks boring, the heart was unique and gave character and you could always see it next to songs, the tick looks boring and out of place.
