Re-enable use of VPNs with spotify

I've used spotify for years now alongside with a VPN on my Desktop and phone. and as of the most recent spotify updates does it now refuse to work.

I've seen posts by spotify staff saying they don't officially support vpn's

When it's very clear they've actively gone out of their way to update the software to somehow detect the VPN and actively not have spotify work.

Please just get rid of or undo the update that completely ruined this app and made it stop working with VPN's this never was an issue before.

Same here. Used a VPN for many years and suddenly can't listen to music if the VPN is on. Their business model probably benefits from gathering data of their users and VPN blocks much of those data snooping prospects I suppose. I've been thinking about switching to another streaming platform ever since the terrible desktop UI redesign, but due to laziness haven't so far. Well.. now that I can't listen to anything anymore I guess I'll have to start looking at the alternatives.

Agree.  If paying for subscription, should not matter if coming in from VPN or not.  With so many choices available, I've cancelled my renewal.
