Using one computer but multiple sources

Hello,

I assume this has been covered, but for the life of me, I can not find the answer so I am hoping someone can help me please.

A little bit about my system, first.  In the family room we have a stereo setup and the source for that system is a MacMini which runs Kodi.  Currently I am a Roon/Tidal user and there is a app that runs on the Mac called something like "Roon Player" which, when the Mac turns on, automatically launches, then Kodi launches.  The idea is that I, or my my wife, can see that Mac, from Roon on our phones and play music it on it.  Basically, it lets either of us play music on the family stereo from our individual phones.  We want to re-create this, but with Spotify.

I have Spotify installed on the Mac and it launches just fine.  From there only either me or my wife can see it.

My wife and I have Spotify Premium account and it's a family play or whatever where one account is something like $10 a month and other account is an additional $3 a month (or whatever the numbers are) and if we sign in on the Mac with her account, she can play to it, but I cannot.  The flip side is if I sign on the Mac with my credentials, only I can play to it.

How do I set it up as a player that can respond to both of us, without having to login/out to switch users each time?

I hope this is clear and if more information is needed, please let me know.

Thank you kindly in advance!

This really isn't possible on Spotify?  Surly I'm not the only one with a family that share a stereo!

How do other people handle this situation?

If you use the same account on multiple devices, you can (for example) use the mobile app to pause/skip/etc. the music playing on the Mac. Being able to do that from different accounts would be, well, weird. I too have a family account, but there's no way I want their music mixing with mine, nor would I want them to be able to control my devices.

Thanks, and I realize that my issue isn't your issue....  In my case however, I want both my wife and I to be able to listen to music in the family room.

Is there really no way to turn a PC or Mac into a "Streamer"?  That seems like a pretty obvious feature missing...
