“You’re still connected to <wifi speaker> push notification is sent far too often

I have been getting this push notification on my iphone 5-10 times a day while I sit at my desk. I play music through a sonos 5 (named “Office”) connected to wifi and my phone is on the same wifi. This notification makes sense if I leave home (that’s when I used to only see it) but it is happening while I sit next to the speaker ever since I moved to this new house.
