Spotify, Facebook & Privacy

Today I noticed something troubling regarding how Spotify accesses and shares my Facebook account information. I read through Spot's privacy policy and I also read the Social Sharing FAQs, specifically "What personal information does Facebook share with Spotify?"

Neither Spotify's privacy policy nor its Social Sharing FAQs state that Spotify will access the amount of data from my Facebook page that it is currently acessing. Through the App Settings in Facebook, I found that Spotify is accessing my religious views, political views, relationship status, and family members, among many other things from my Facebook account.
Obviously privacy is a big deal these days in the world of social networking, but their privacy policy doesn't explicitly state that this type of information would be gathered. It states basic information like location, age, etc.  I'm typically not a stickler about this type of stuff but I pay to use Spotify daily and this doesn't jive with me. I have an email out to Spotify requesting clarification around how and why this information as this is a clear violation of its privacy policy and most certainly has legal ramifications if they are indeed acessing this type of information.

Below is a screenshot of what Spotify has been accessing from my FB account:

I'm curious if anybody else ran into this and/or contacted Spotify about it. If so, what was their response to you?

i share some of your privacy concerns. i noticed your post and wanted to let you know that you can adjust some of this, so that Spotify can't see all they are seeing according to your screencap. It's done in the same place that you went to get the screencap. here's all that spotify can see of my account: http://cl.ly/image/271Q3j0b3X1d - and i think that's the bare minimum they need, in order to function, or so they claim. there are also privacy concerns, however, on our profiles within spotify now---anyone can see who we follow, who follows us, our top artists, etc - even if we don't have "share my activity and what i listen to with my followers on spotify" checked -or "automatically make new playlists public" or "make my top tracks playlist public" or "show the top artists i've been listening to" checked.
