Trying to change my password on my Spotify Premium Account

Solved!

Trying to change my password on my Spotify Premium Account

So, I'm trying to change my password on my Spotifiy Premium account and it gives me an error saying 'Another account is already registered with this email address.'. The email address is mine, and the only other account I can think of would be the when they asked me to link my facebook. Anyways, I need some help resolving this issue because I don't trust my old password anymore.

trying to change password on my spotify premium and it says Another account is already registered with this email address, please help thanks

hi im also trying to change my password and its saying the same thing 'Another account is already registered with this email address.'.

the email is mine but i also tried to log on with another email too. and my country settings wont let me change it to nz. this just radomly happened and i couldnt access my account or music. help!

Hey @mickey1981 it sounds like you use a facebook login? If so, you need to change the password on facebook.com, as explained here.

@helenaamy Please also follow the steps in the FAQ to change your password. What country is shown in your account profile and which country are you in? Can you not change it on that page?

Hi, my spotify account is being used by another person, the person has changed the password so i can only log in with Facebook. I have tried to reset my password but it says "could not update password". I have also tried to change the password when im logged in with facebook but i need my old password to confirm but that password is changed by the other user...

I tried to change my password but get "Another account is already registered with this email address.". Can anyone help me out please?

Someone else is using my account and have deleted my playlists. 😞

@bruffemuffe If you normally use a facebook login, you need to change your facebook password

@bruffemuffe - If you continue to see that error message, its most likely you have a duplicate account in the Spotify system (which is amazingly easy to do!). If you get in touch with the customer services team directly using the online contact form they will be able to get the extra account removed for you.

If you get an automated email reply back directing you to the community or help pages, you need to reply directly to that email (even if its from no-reply) and one of the customer services agents will get back to you as soon as possible.

Alternatively, if you prefer support via Twitter, please tweet @SpotifyCares.

I'm having the exact same problem as the author of the first post. I'm basically trying to change my e-mail address but it gives me an error saying it's already connected to another account, which I'm pretty sure it isn't. I even tried to remove the e-mail address I'm trying to change to from my Facebook account, and that didn't work either.

I'd really appreciate some help here, thanks!

Just get in touch as I outlined above your post and an adviser will be able to lend a hand to get that sorted for you.

I can not change my password. I get "Another account is already registered with this email address.". I do not use Facebook for login but rather my normal username.

@pellejones - Sounds like you do have a duplicate account, knowingly or not. If you could get in touch with the customer services team directly using the online contact form they will be able to remove the extra one for you.

If you get an automated email reply back directing you to the community or help pages, you need to reply directly to that email (even if its from no-reply) and one of the customer services agents will get back to you as soon as possible.

Hello, I also have this problem when trying to change the password. Can you help me?

I have the same issue. I registered with my facebook account and when I updated to premium it asked me to login with my username, so I did but now I have a duplicate account. my other issue is that I have playlist saved on my facebook account that I really would like to recover and have on my premium/username account, is that possible? many thanks

If you guys could get in touch with customer services as I outlined a few posts above they will be able to get this sorted out for you.

Hi i got this problem when i´m trying to change my password

Another account is already registered with this email address.

can you please help me?

@bobokung - That generally means you have a duplicate account in the system (it's super annoying!). The support team will need to remove it for you. You can get in touch via Twitter: @SpotifyCares or email using the online contact form and they will be able to lend a hand.

If you get an automated email reply back directing you to the community or help pages, you need to reply directly to that email (even if its from no-reply) and one of the customer services agents will get back to you as soon as possible.
