Wrong public profile name showing up.

Hi guys,

So my user name is fine, its shotsfired!. However, my boss accidentally connected her facebook account to my spotify (as a test) and now my public profile name is showing as HER NAME. I have since disconnected her FB from my spotify and connected my actual facebook account, my profile picture IN THE APPLICATION is accurate, but her name is still showing (in the application and on open.spotify.com/user/shotsfired! I have tried logging out and in a dozen times, no joy. I have tried opening another browser and entering in the url, no joy. I cannot restart this computer (a macbook pro) because I work in media and they use this computer constantly (long story).

I really need this cleared up asap. Thanks ya'll.

Don't know if I understood correctly... I can either wait 24 hours with the right facebook account logged in... or I can get it done quicker by reinstalling? I did reinstall,,,, and my sons Facebook is still showing as my name. And if it doesn't repair itself within 24 hours, what do I do?

Yeah...well... 24 hours. Still my sons name shows. Restart? Yes. uninstall and reinstall? Yes. Four letter words? SHURE!. Call geek brother? yepp, done that. Google it? oh yeah. Smoked 20 while waiting for the darn thing to go away? Yeah, even thrown in an extra 10.

That username is showing as connected to the Facebook of Mona, is that correct?

I did connect it to my facebook yes... and I'm called Mona there also... but I'm currently showed logged in as my son Michael.

and yet another reinstall n reboot later.... I'm still my son.... And my friends tell me that I show up on their list on spotify as him too. Is this still a PEBCAC?

Definitely shows as Mona in my desktop client when I look you up. Are you using a PC or a Mac?

PC.... wery much a windows8 one..... Spotify doesn't work on unix 😞

Would you be able to try one more reinstall, but this time taking the extra steps of stopping processes and deleting folders outlined here?:

OMG!! I'M ME!!!!!! I'M SOOOOO ME!!!!!!! Did an extra search for any file with a name containing "spotify" or simular. Found 6 files after uninstall and deleting the helpwebspotify-thingy. then delete... then reboot.... then : It's Christmas again in this house.... Thank you!!

No worries! Spotify employs some pretty serious data caching to reduce traffic, so you find things which don't change often such as names and pictures can hang around for a bit. It will correct itself in your friends clients with some time. 😉

Somebody at work linked their Spotify to my Facebook. My picture and name remained the same only their email and account (credit) became attatched to my profile. I logged out and attempted to log back in as myself but it would not bring up my playlists etc. So then I deactivated Facebook on Spotify and did a re-install of Spotify. Now, it logs me back in with a new account and new public profile name/number. Meanwhile, I searched via this new Spotify public profile name/number for my old one and found it with all my playlists and followers intact. 

Long story short how to I re-connect back to this one. Nothing on the forums have worked and I have received nothing but dead air from the busy bees at Spotify.

My account is not linked to facebook but my mom's name and picture is still on my account.

Hiya, did you have facebook connected before this? If so it should go soon for some reason it takes a bit for it to appear and disappear.

My mother claims to have never connected her Facebook so I will say no.
